Week 5, Anyone else want to go to the woods?

Paul spent the last 7 days on the Appalachian Trail with his brother. Shown here is Paul in front of the Patomac River and getting supplies from his sister, brother (who is hiking literally the ENTIRE A.T. this year), and the sister’s husband.

The big movers of the week were Paul and Dean, both had incredible weeks. So much for that big lead Michael had, Michael had a historically bad showing in the Power Ranks this week and he’s already fallen to second place.

Not much time for a writeup this week, so lets give every team a one liner.

Cory beat Dave with a big HR and a good Batting average.

Arthur hit a bunch of HRs and put up a 2.08 ERA over 43 innings with a ton of Ks to knock BJ down a peg.

Dave’s offense still is looking for its footing and now Clayton Kershaw is hurt.

BJ ran into a good Arthur team but had a pretty bad week all around, lucky for them Michael made their week look golden.

Paul was monstrous He won every hitting category (although that had more to do with Michael’s ‘weak’) and put up a solid pitching week with a 3.18 ERA and an 11.3 k/9. Paul has a very good team right now.

Dean came back to life with a sub 3 ERA and .300 AVG with 17 HRs. Is he back?

Matt had a few decent numbers this week but just doesn’t have much outside of AJ Pollock and Chris Sale to boost this team right now, although Nick Markakis is trying his best.

Max put up a Floored-Season-High 19 home runs (note the league average in home runs per week had ben between 9 and 9.8 so far this year but this week that average was 12.1 this week even with Michael and Keith only hitting 5, there were some big HR outputs this week). Not much else went right for Max.

Keith did just enough to beat Max. He had a good 3.26 ERA over 66! innings but didn’t do much offensively.

Michael was abysmal in just about every category. He had relief pitchers blow up early in the week forcing him to stream just to save one pitching category. Quite a downfall after his start to the season. Fantasy is a fickle, fickle beast.

Monster of the Week: Dean. Paul would be deserving of this too but Dean would have beaten Paul by a good bit. Dean is back from the ashes with his arrow pointing in the right direction.

Max of the Week: I need some help from the people here, we haven’t had many good Maxes this year. Help me find them.
