Week 12: Recap Week

Michael and Amina bought a new house in the burbs. They moved in this weekend. When he first arrived there, Buddy make a beeline for pool that’s in the backyard.

The Flooded Farm

Michael extended his Power Ranks lead as Paul took a topple back to the pack. Cory is trying to make a break out of the middle tier and is close to doing so. The graph was expanded because the sub-3 and plus-8 teams are a few weeks into their realms and are showing no signs of slowing down.

I’m running low on creative ideas for blog topics, so this week I’ll just stick with the recaps.

The only matchup last week between two projected playoff teams saw Arthur take down Paul in blowout fashion. Arthur’s pitching came to play and Paul couldn’t get anything going at all. Paul ended up with 42 ER on the week as streaming starting pitcher after starting pitcher blew up on him. His ERA over 9.00 was the highest in Floored history since the Innings Pitched minimum was raised from 7. Neither team did much of anything on offense, but Arthur still escaped with a statement win.

The biggest blowout of the week came from Matt taking down Max. Matt actually had a huge week hitting over .300 with a  sub-3.00 ERA. He was able to hit the 30 IP minimum with a late add in the week to secure the victory. Matt actually has some good pieces if he could put the effort into setting a lineup a few times a week. He is certainly not too far back to make a run at the playoffs. Max, well, Max is looking ahead to the BSC and Acuna being back this week. The future begins now.

Michael took Keith down despite a huge weekend from Keith. Michael’s team hiccuped a bit this week only hitting .244 with a ton of hitting strikeouts but his team is strong enough right now to overcome it. Keith put hit .300 from Friday to Sunday but had too big of a hole in the rest of the offensive categories from the first part of the week to make a run to victory. Both teams pitched well with sub 2.7 ERAs over a combined 84 innings with 100 Ks. It was a very good pitching matchup.

Brian and Josh took down the charging Cory in a big win for the middle tier’s playoff battle. Cory powered himself to 19 Home Runs but struggled with a a 5.3 ERA, although he did have 50 Ks over 39 innings which is impressive. BJ’s pitching continues to carry them when their bullpen doesn’t blow up. A 1.86 ERA over 48 innings seems to be par for the course from them now. They will be a very difficult playoff team to beat if they can make a push into it.

Dave beat Dean as Dean was surprisingly unable to find his way offensively yet put up a big pitching week. Dave had solid, yet unspectacular, production across the board to move himself into second place in the Yahoo Standings. Dave’s big stat of the week was 97 Runs plus RBIs. Both of these teams are firmly in the middle class of the league right now, Dean will need a hot streak soon to make a run to the playoffs though, as Dave has faced an easier schedule to this point and has a playoff-edge on the rest of the middle class.
