Week 15, Finally we’re back

Dean and the family did the thing we had ideated nearly a decade ago where he went to three ballgames in a weekend in the Midwest: Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh. It was very impressive.

Robert appears to have made a wise decision to cut bait on this year, as he sank to the bottom of the YTD Power Ranks this week. Michael, meanwhile, took the lull of the all star break to go the other direction. With 2.5 weeks to the trade deadline, Michael needs to show himself that this team is for real to prevent the vultures from finally having their way with him.

After a long 10-day week which should have allowed the EWW numbers to level out (it’s hard to be THAT much better…or worse…than everyone else for the extra few days), Dave was still able to put up an EWW over 9. Dave’s week 10, 11, and week 14 tanked his YTD power rank…but other than those three weeks (where he still had EWW values above 6), he’s been the best team this year by a wider margin than the YTD power rank numbers show.

I’ve had the blog topics floating around for a few weeks now, but time is short so I’m unfortunately going to have to keep this one short too. Let’s just look at draft capital spent. Thinking back to last year, we had three major buyers and three major sellers:

This year? It’s a little more murky. We’ve had 5 people sell significant player values (Max, Arthur, Robert, Michael, Kevin), but we’ve also had 6 different people buy significant player values (Keith, Michael, Robert, Arthur, Paul, Kevin). The trades have come in fast and furious this year, and we still have the push to the deadline to go. As things stand today, here is how draft capital would be looking:

Keith has been the obvious all-in name, but Michael had a busy week 15. Cory, Dave, and Dean have all stood-pat so far while Max, Robert, and Arthur are all basically at the same value heading. Still plenty of time for this chart to be completely undone, let's have a fun few weeks.

(I hope all the dads and Disney-soundtrack fans out there caught the Moana reference)
