Week 19: ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!

The two worlds of Dean here, first seen bike riding, in-person, with a group of people he normally rides online with....what an idea for a vacation. Second, we see Ellie, Emma, and Erin off to school last week. They will all be our bosses before we know it.

  • Akin to the calamity of Maximus in the Coliseum, the top half of the Floored Standings were turned upside down this week. It's been a steady decline for the elite teams in our league since around week 10, for a number of reasons, but this week that came to a head. Each of the top three teams, Kevin, Arthur, and Dave, all played teams from outside the top three, and all three lost. Where this leaves the standings is a virtual 3-way tie at the top between these 2026 Floored studs, Michael and Paul nearly tied in 4th, and Dean lingering around in 6th.
  • Looking at the Week EWW minus AVG EWW for the year, Michael, Robert, Max, Cory, and Dean all overperformed this week. That's a recipe for some upsets, and that's what happened. Kevin and Arthur also UNDERperformed by -2.2 and -3.0 points, respectively, and that's a recipe for a letdown.
  • Michael's surge continued and he just hopes it can last. a 36.9 EWW over the last 4 weeks is nearly 6 EWW points better than the 2nd best team over that span.
  • Dean was the largest standout of the week with a Week EWW minus AVG EWW of +2.3, this means he outperformed his normal EWW score by 2.3 points. Dean played Max this week and throttled back his IP totals to perfection...even if he did leave that 14 K game from Payton Tolle on the bench along the way. Dean's team has a very elite, but very shallow pitching staff that is set up perfectly for these low IP totals.
  • The trade deadline passed with a whisper as none of the contending teams felt the need to spend to keep up with the rest, and as pared up as the league has been this year, who can blame them.
  • Paul continues to hang around. He is down a few of his top players from a month ago, but his team clearly has enough left to make a run, let's see what happens.
  • There are four weeks left in the regular season, it's a sprint to the finish.
